The Golf Together day, now in its second year, took place at Ghala Golf Club. The event is a networking opportunity for staff, senior managers of Port and Freezone tenant companies, shipping lines and their agents, and other local businesses.
Senior managers from SOHAR Port and Freezone were there, along with a few selected journalists, to discuss business developments in 2015 and look forward to the business year ahead. Golf novices were given professional coaching whilst the aficionados amongst the group got into the swing of things with a team tournament.
Andre Toet, CEO of SOHAR Port, said: “Last year’s Golf Together Day was a huge success, which is why we’ve decided to turn this into an annual event. Being out in the fresh air in a relaxed environment is sometimes a better place to discuss business and move things forward than in a meeting room.”
Mr Toet also handed out Awards for the day’s best golfers, including the “Best Neary Award”, a golfing expression for a drive or putt that gets very close to the hole, but then doesn’t quite make it…
