Wallem has been awarded “Hong Kong Ship Manager of the Year” at the Mission to Seafarers’ Annual charity Dinner held on November 17th in Hong Kong.
In order to shortlist companies eligible for this award, seafarers on Hong Kong-flagged were surveyed by the Mission to Seafarers. The survey comprised of a number of questions about their views on their employers (owners and managers), with particular focus on safety, security and welfare.
Receiving the award on behalf of Wallem, David Price, Managing Director of Wallem Ship Management said “This award is very meaningful since the voting was done by seafarers themselves. We strive to continue to devote all our efforts to ensure that there is a strong safety culture and a professional and supportive environment onboard all Wallem-managed ships. We would like to thank our seafarers for this great honour.”
The Mission to Seafarers is an international maritime charity which provides help and support to the 1.5 million crewmen and women who face danger every day to keep our global economy afloat.
