The world’s oldest full rigged tall ship, the Norwegian Sørlandet, sailed into Hong Kong harbour this morning.
The ship, which was built in 1927, is on a two-year circumnavigation, crewed by students from A+ World Academy, an onboard boarding school comprising of international students from six different countries.
Thanks to vast experience in providing quality and efficient port services for a wide range of vessel types, Wallem Ship Agencies has been appointed port agent for the vessel. Wallem has therefore assisted with all pre-arrival arrangements and in-port services for the vessel’s stay in Hong Kong.
Mikael Johansson, the Sorlandet’s CEO said, “We are very grateful for your kind support to us. Everyone onboard and here in the office in Norway is excited for the vessel to berth in Hong Kong!”
The tall ship will remain docked at Pier 8 next to the Maritime Museum where a graduation ceremony will be held for the students of A+ World Academy.
