At Posidonia, tributes are being made to the work of Guy Morel, who is retiring from the role of general secretary at InterManager.
InterManager members; who represent more than 3,700 ships and almost 200,000 seafarers have praised Mr Morel, who has held senior management positions in ship owning and ship management companies since 1979.
As one of the founders of Intermanager; Mr Morel played a significant role in creating the association’s code of ethics and assisted in introducing the cadet rule. Mr Morel was also a member of InterManager’s key performance indicator steering group and a developer of the association’s KPI Project.
Roberto Giorgi, InterManager President, said: “InterManager owes a great debt to Guy and he will be much missed. We thank him for his years of service to the association and we wish him every success with his retirement projects.”
Guy Morel responded: “Obviously I will miss InterManager, the many friends that I made and the great sense of working together for the good of the industry. But I know that I leave the association in the best possible hands, as Kuba has amply demonstrated that he has the capacity to take InterManager to new highs”
