Pole Star partners with Delta Wave Communications for onshore fleet tracking solutions

Water wakePole Star Space Applications announced today that it has partnered with Delta Wave Communications to pursue onshore opportunities. Delta Wave will offer Pole Star’s remote monitoring, security and tracking solutions to the North American energy exploration, chemical, and oil & gas markets.

Since the late 1990’s Pole Star has developed satellite-based fleet monitoring services for use in the harsh and isolated marine environment. Because satellite-based communication provides near global coverage, Pole Star’s systems allow shipowners and managers to track their ships, even when they sail beyond the reach of other communications networks. This need applies equality to onshore companies that operate assets in remote land areas where cellular coverage is limited.

“We think there is a natural synergy between the satellite tracking services we offer to our shipping and offshore customers, and the needs of the onshore market,” said Andrew Peters, Chief Executive Officer, Pole Star. “Many oil & gas maritime operators have similar needs for their land-based assets and, thanks to this strategic partnership, Delta Wave will able to provide integrated remote monitoring services to this market.”

“We are very pleased to be working with Pole Star as our primary fleet management solution provider,” said Tom Clark, Delta Wave’s Chief Executive Officer. “Pole Star provides innovative tracking and monitoring solutions that maintain a high standard of quality, performance and global coverage.  Their world class products have proven to meet the high standards as demanded by their global customers, as well as having met and exceeded Delta Wave’s expectations.”

Pole Star provides a wide range of specialized GPS devices and integrated software solutions that allow operators to monitor mixed fleets of barges, baskets, frac tanks, trailers, heavy equipment or service vehicles via a single web-based monitoring system. Hardware options range from “fit and forget” low-cost GPS devices to sophisticated monitoring systems that offer intelligent event-based tracking and scalability.
