The EMMC 2019 will be the perfect platform to discuss the latest developments in shipping, maritime and offshore industries, supporting the shipping industry and regional economies, and presenting solutions for current challenges, locally, regionally and internationally.

Considered a unique event held for the very first time in Lebanon, EMMC 2019 seeks to assemble local and international experts, exploring key maritime, shipping and offshore issues.

The conference is mainly concerned to introduce the maritime sector in its various aspects, its present and future status, and connection to national economies. The conference will also shed the light on current and future IMO requirements and the needs of ship owners and operators.

All of this comes in line with exploring ways of strengthening and sustaining the role of Arab and regional ports as hubs attracting international shipping lines and supply chain operations, in addition to looking deeper into strengthening and training human resources and specialised personnel that highly contribute to this vital sector.

And in light of the oil and gas sector developments, EMMC 2019 also aims at expanding all issues related to the oil and gas sector, focusing on the role of offshore companies and the opportunities offered in this sector, observing its readiness, along with the expansion projects, developments and techniques in operations and logistics.

The last session will include several maritime academics and professors discussing the reality of the maritime education and training, where key maritime institutions will present some of their successful practices. This session will also feature a notable participation from the International Maritime University.

EMMC’s second day will feature a maritime site visit to the Port of Beirut facilities, where the port management will inform visitors of current and future projects aimed at developing the port and container terminal infrastructure.

The organiser of EMMC 2019 has also prepared for a visit to the Maritime Science and Technology Institute MARSATI, located in Batroun, North of Lebanon, to explore Institute’s facilities and its distinguished academic services.

This is followed by a site visit to the port of Tripoli, where the port manager will enlighten participants about the development projects at the port’s infrastructure and facilities and container terminal, observing the investment opportunities in the promising ports sector.
