Fincantieri delivers ‘Norwegian Aqua’ to Norwegian Cruise Line

Italian yard group Fincantieri is pleased to announce the successful delivery of ‘Norwegian Aqua’, the first ship in the expanded Prima Plus class, built for Norwegian Cruise Line.

With a gross tonnage of 156,300 and a length of approximately 322 metres, Norwegian Aqua is 10% larger than the first two ships in the Prima class, ‘Norwegian Prima’ and ‘Norwegian Viva’. The ship offers guests a range of unique experiences, including the world’s first hybrid roller coaster with a water slide, the Glow Court interactive digital sports complex and the Aqua Game Zone, a multifunctional entertainment area featuring immersive games and virtual reality. Norwegian Aqua also features the largest 360-degree outdoor promenade ever built, Ocean Boulevard.

The delivery ceremony took place at Fincantieri’s Marghera shipyard and was attended by key leaders from both companies, including Fincantieri’s Chairman Biagio Mazzotta, CEO Pierroberto Folgiero ,and General Manager of the Merchant Ships Division, Luigi Matarazzo, alongside Harry Sommer, President and CEO of Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings, and David J. Herrera, Brand President of Norwegian Cruise Line.

In addition to this delivery, Fincantieri is preparing for the launching ceremony of Norwegian Aqua's sister ship, ‘Norwegian Luna’, which is scheduled for tomorrow. Norwegian Luna is set to sail in Spring 2026.

This milestone highlights the ongoing collaboration between Fincantieri and Norwegian Cruise Line, reinforced by the recent announcement of a historic order for four cruise ships, marking the largest-ever vessels to be built for NCL by Fincantieri.
