Ambrey Global Specialty (AGS) service launched to help manage marine war risks insurance

Ambrey announces the launch of its new specialist marine war MGA (managing general agent) - Ambrey Global Specialty (AGS). AGS is a Lloyd’s Coverholder with capacity provided by a panel of Lloyd’s of London insurers led by MS Amlin.

AGS will specialise in ‘spot breach’ marine hull war risks insurance, utilising Ambrey’s unique data and insights to provide intelligence-led risk mitigation and financial security for its maritime industry clients and their operations in the world’s high-risk areas.

Ambrey is one of the largest providers of risk management services to the global maritime industry and has a track record of over 15 years demonstrating the capability and expertise to forecast, monitor and reduce risk to shipping, be it terrorism, war risks, narcotics, migration, piracy and other marine perils.

The launch of AGS has followed Ambrey’s creation of a new Global Operations Centre (GOC) in Southampton, UK, a high-tech facility designed to transform the future of maritime risk operations worldwide. This unique centre combines advanced analysis, digital innovation, and highly experienced Maritime Operations Officers to configure a suite of services that prepare crews and vessels to navigate complex environments and respond in the event of incidents.

Nick Maddalena (pictured), Managing Director, AGS, said: "I am delighted to announce the launch of Ambrey Global Specialty, which extends Ambrey’s ability to support our clients in the global maritime industry. AGS launches at a time of considerable geopolitical instability in the world and the support of Ambrey’s Global Operations Centre and its intelligence-led risk management services will be crucial in evaluating risk in real-time and supporting our clients and their insurance brokers with the most efficient risk transfer solutions.

"Ambrey’s digital services will be embedded in our marine war risks insurance offering to support our clients in navigating the world’s most volatile areas safely and in the knowledge that their operations are insured with the financial security of Lloyd’s of London.”

The GOC has been created to advance and elevate standards in the maritime industry for every seafarer and every vessel, everywhere. The GOC will give the global maritime industry access to an incredibly advanced maritime domain awareness and intelligence capability integrated with a broad range of security, safety and response services.
