ASRY and Abu Dhabi Ship Building sign MoU for shipbuilding projects

The Arab Shipbuilding and Repair Yard (ASRY) in Bahrain has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with EDGE Group entity Abu Dhabi Ship Building (ADSB, a regional leader in the design, construction, repair, maintenance, refit and conversion of naval and commercial vessels. The two entities will work together to build new naval auxiliary vessels and port craft and constitute a joint committee to assess the feasibility of each project.

The agreement was signed during the International Defence Exhibition (IDEX) and the Naval Defence Exhibition (NAVDEX) 2025 in the presence of senior officials from both companies. ASRY’s CEO, Dr Ahmed Al Abri, and ADSB’s CEO, David Massey, signed the MoU.

Commenting on the agreement, Dr Al Abri said, ‘We hope this collaboration lays the groundwork for a successful and sustainable partnership, creating promising opportunities to engage in a range of projects. By combining our advanced technical capabilities with Abu Dhabi Ship Building’s extensive expertise, we can solidify our position as a leading maritime hub, offering practical and integrated solutions to clients worldwide.’

It is hoped that this partnership will contribute to advancing the shipbuilding industry and strengthening regional cooperation.
