Senior leaders from the world’s major maritime clusters will meet during London International Shipping Week 2019 to discuss ways they can cooperate in servicing the future needs of the global shipping industry.

The LISW19 International Maritime Cluster Round Table Debate is sponsored by the Irish Maritime Development Office and will be held from 9am to 11.30am on Wednesday 11th September at the offices of Norton Rose Fulbright, at 3 More London Riverside.

Clusters represented include the UK, Singapore, Monaco, Hong Kong, New York, Ireland, Norway, Greece, Cyprus and Malta

Those taking part in front of an expected audience of 80 delegates, include Harry Theochari, Chairman of Maritime UK; Beng Tee Tan, Group Director at the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA); Marcello Pica, Vice President of the Monegasque Chamber of Shipping; Bjørn Højgaard, Deputy Chairman of the Hong Kong Ship Owners Association (HKSOA) and CEO of Angle-Eastern Univan; Clay Maitland from New York Maritime (NYMAR); Liam Lacey, Director of the Irish Maritime Development Office (IMDO); as well as Harald Solberg, CEO of the Norwegian Shipowners’ Association (NSA); Nicolas Tsakos, shipowner; as well as Andreas Hadjipetrou, Vice-President, Cyprus Shipping Chamber and Managing Director of Columbia Shipmanagement and Michael Callus, CEO Malta Maritime Forum (MMF).

The leaders of the maritime clusters from around the world will discuss and debate key issues facing the way clusters operate independently and how they can improve cooperation between themselves. This highly successful event was first run in 2017 but this time will attract more participants from around the world.

Lunch, sponsored by the Irish Maritime Development Office, follows the discussion. To inquire about attendance please email events@shippinginnovation.com.
