Korean Register of Shipping (KR) and its staff members donated 1 million baht (US$ 31,500) to the victims of the recent flooding in Thailand.

In response to the devastation caused by the worst flooding in more than five decades, KR launched a campaign late last year which raised this significant sum from among its management and staff around the world.

The donation was made to the Ministry of Transport of Thailand on Christmas Day. KR hopes it will go some way to assist those people that have been affected by the flooding that has extended across one-third of Thailand’s provinces including the capital, Bangkok.

“We sympathise with the victims of this devastating natural disaster,” said Oh Kong-gyun, Chairman and CEO of KR. “Although the cleanup process is underway in many areas, I understand that there is still much more to be done and I hope that the funds we have raised will help those who have been affected.”
