Trevor Harrison has been appointed Acting Chief Executive of the International Bunker Industry Association (IBIA), following the recent resignation of Ian Adams.

With over 30 years’ experience as a barrister, Trevor Harrison is a member of the IBIA Board and author of the recently published book Legal Issues in Bunkering. He has accepted the role of Acting Chief Executive on a part-time basis and will continue to work as a maritime arbitrator and commercial mediator alongside this.

Bob Lintott, IBIA Chairman, said: “In his capacity as an IBIA Board Member and before that as an Association member, Trevor has worked closely with the Secretariat on many different matters over the past few years. With his unequalled knowledge of IBIA’s global objectives and internal functions, he is an excellent short-term fit for the role of Chief Executive and we are very grateful for his support and assistance at this time.”

He added: “It is very much business as usual at IBIA and we look forward to seeing our members and the wider industry at our Barcelona Convention, starting on November 2nd and at our Golf and Gala Dinner in Singapore on September 2nd.”

The IBIA (Asia) Golf Challenge and the Inaugural IBIA (Asia) Gala Dinner will take place at the Warren Golf and Country Club and the Raffles Hotel, Singapore. The IBIA Annual Convention 2011 is being held at the Hotel Rey Juan Carlos l, Barcelona Spain.
