Bjorn Hojgaard has resigned as Managing Director of Thome Ship Management with immediate effect and has been replaced by the company’s technical director Carsten Brix Ostenfeldt.

The company said he had left to ‘pursue other interests’.

Carsten Brix Ostenfeldt becomes Managing Director of Thome Ship Management after serving as the company’s Technical Director for the last two years. Olav Eek Thorstensen, Thome Group Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, said of the appointment: “Carsten has served our ship management company with distinction for the last two years as technical director and I have no doubt he will tackle his new role with the kind of ability and leadership he has already so clearly demonstrated in this time with the company.”

Mr Thorstensen thanked Bjorn Hojgaard for his time at Thome Ship Management and said his decision to leave the group was “sad but understandable”.

“Bjorn leaves us with best wishes and I would like to place on record my personal thanks to him for his service to Thome Ship Management during a time of significant advancement and change. He has led the company with determination and vision. I am sure everyone at Thome wishes him well for his future.”
