HM Government of Gibraltar’s Minister for Shipping to lead Maritime Services delegation to Singapore and Hong Kong

The Hon Albert Isola MP, Minister with responsibility for Financial Services and Maritime Services, will be leading a delegation to Singapore on 7th and 8 April  and then on to Hong Kong on 11th and 12th April 2016.

The Minister will be accompanied by CEO and Captain of the Port, Bob Sanguinetti. This visit forms part of the Government’s continued campaign to raise the Port of Gibraltar’s profile and to aggressively market the broad range of services it delivers globally.  Minister Isola will host an official reception at each location, and meet senior maritime industry executives, ship owners and operators.  Commodore Sanguinetti will also be meeting with key stakeholders in Singapore and Hong Kong, supporting a contingent of Gibraltar based bunker suppliers, shipping agents and other service providers.  He  commented that ‘HM Government of Gibraltar is highly supportive of the shipping sector, a pivotal contributor to our economy, and we will continue to work closely with the committed professionals in the industry, to assist the Port develop solutions and initiatives, in order to provide an even better service to the international shipping community.’

Minister Isola said “I am very encouraged to be leading a strong Gibraltar team of professionals from the maritime services sectors on this trade mission to Singapore and Hong Kong.  This visit aims to establish new professional contacts and follow up on and capitalise on our previous visits to a region which we remain committed to.”
