Haifa Port Company (HPC) has awarded the international tender for a new build Voith Schneider tug to Zamakona Yards.
HPC has tendered a tug which is a sister vessel of those already operating in the harbor. The tug has a 70 t bollard pull and a length of 31,50m by 12,50m beam. The vessel design is by Voith Design and involved optimising the hull shape and making improvements required by the client. Classification will be provided by Lloyd’s Register.
The tug is equipped with two Voith 32R5 propulsion units coupled to two MAN main engines 8L27/38 developing each 2.670 kW.
For towage purposes the aft deck is fitted with a towing hook and a towage winch from Hatlapa.

The company specialises in offshore vessels, research vessels, fishing boats and tugs.
