Epic Gas has announced that its 5,000cbm fully-pressurised gas carrier, Epic St Thomas, was delivered on Monday from Sasaki Shipyard in Japan. In attendance at the delivery ceremony was the vessel’s godmother, Ms Gina Fyffe, Executive Director of Integra, the global petrochemical trading group.
Lars Vang Christensen, CEO of Epic Gas, said: “We are extremely pleased with the high quality workmanship and design of the Epic St Thomas. Our commercial team are in the final stages of negotiating a long term contract with an oil major for operating the vessel in Europe.”
The next newbuild addition to the fleet will be the 5,000cbm sister ship Epic St Croix, to be delivered from Sasaki Shipyard in April this year. Lars Vang Christensen added: “This is the first delivery of our newbuild/fleet expansion programme. We look forward to a busy year ahead as we continue to expand and renew our fleet to meet growing demand for modern tonnage.”
