Frank Coles leaves Inmarsat

Inmarsat has announced the departure of President Frank Coles (pictured), with the promotion of Ronald Spithout (previously President of Inmarsat Enterprise) as his replacement.

Mr Spithout is beginning his Presidency during the deployment of Inmarsat’s Global Xpress (GX) Ka-band satellite constellation.

Mr Coles was previously CEO of Globe Wireless (a firm which Inmarsat acquired in 2013) and had worked for Inmarsat since 2011, becoming President in 2012.

In an official announcement, an Inmarsat representative stated: “Inmarsat today announces that Ronald Spithout will become President, Inmarsat Maritime, following the departure of Frank Coles. Replacing Ronald as President, Inmarsat Enterprise, is Greg Ewert who has been VP, Enterprise Strategic Development & M2M.” A reason for the departure of Mr Coles has not been cited.
