Exol PrideExol Lubricants has reached the final of the SHD Logistics Awards 2016 in the category of Environment/Sustainability, with the winner being announced at Vox Centre awards venue, part of the Resorts World Birmingham leisure complex, on 15th September 2016.

Up against seven other candidates, Exol’s commitment to reducing its carbon footprint by investing in new technology for its UK fleet and barge transport has secured its place among the best in the industry.

The ceremony will take place during the International Materials Handling Exhibition (IMHX) in Birmingham. IMHX is held every three years and is the UK’s largest intralogistics event, connecting tens of thousands of supply chain professionals with more 450 exhibitors.

Writer and comedian Katherine Ryan will host the event and is sure to entertain guests with her comedic charm.

Steve Dunn, Exol Lubricants Sales Director, said: “The recognition is a great achievement for Exol and reflects our commitment to protecting the environment by using sustainable resources where possible.

“Our new barge, Exol Pride, presents us with an environmentally friendly option while transporting large loads. However, where road travel is essential, we continue to maintain one of the most economical fleets on UK roads, comprising a mix of dual-purpose vehicles and large tanker trucks.”

Both Exol’s bulk blending plant in Rotherham, South Yorkshire and Head Office in Wednesbury, West Midlands are ISO-14001 accredited having successfully implemented an effective ‘Integrated Management System’, which focuses on reducing, reusing and recycling waste, as well as using energy efficiently
