Bogerd Martin invests in Hong Kong with new regional office

general managerBogerd Martin, supplier of charts and nautical publications, has opened a new office in the heart of Hong Kong’s shipping community in Kwai Chung, to meet demand for its services from its growing Asian client base.

The creation of Bogerd Martin Marine (HK) will enable companies across Southeast Asia to benefit directly from the group’s 100-year experience in navigation charts and publications, both paper and electronic.

“Bogerd Martin built its success on its ability to meet reliably and consistently the most diverse and challenging requests from its clients,” said Michael Martin, Managing Director of Bogerd Martin. “Opening this office ensures our growing customer base in Hong Kong and across the whole region can benefit from our tailor-made supply and support services.”

2. Bogerd Martin Marine (HK) Ltd.jpgThe new company, located on Container Port Road in Kwai Chung, New Territories, is staffed entirely by knowledgeable regional personnel, under the management of General Manager Enrico S.R. D’souza (pictured above).

Mr D’souza has 20 years’ experience in shipping acquired in senior positions both at sea and ashore. “In my work as a ship manager, I was always impressed at the efficiency and flexibility with which Bogerd Martin serviced our needs”, he explained. “I am now proud to be able to bring this quality of service directly to companies in our region.”

Bogerd Martin Marine (HK) will offer the full range of services, including printed and electronic charts, digital publications and folio management. Its Chart Track program will also be available and serviceable from the new office, enabling ships to optimise the management of charts and new editions through the automated order facility, saving considerable time for the shipboard crew and improving safety on board. Furthermore, the company has built an enviable reputation for supply of equipment to all kind of ships built in China. The Hong Kong office will service clients in the neighbouring countries and as far as Japan, India and Australia.

Printed and electronic charts are despatched daily to all corners of the world and the company is a distributor for the UK Hydrographic Office’s paper and digital charts (IC-ENC – AVCS – ARCS charts) as well as for Primar-Stavanger and Jeppesen/ C-Map Norway. The company’s network of distribution centers in Antwerp, Shanghai, Tianjin and Hong Kong ensure vessels receive critical navigational data where and when they need it.
