Black Pearl Maritime Security achieves ISO/PAS 28007 Certification

Black Pearl Maritime Security has today (Thursday) announced that it has successfully achieved ISO/PAS 28007:2012 certification, the new Maritime Security Standard.

The accreditation process with Lloyd’s Register Quality Assurance (LRQA) started in November 2013 when Black Pearl successfully underwent stage one of the audit. This was swiftly followed by the completion of stage two in January after an extensive two-day audit.

The accreditation is being embraced by the industry as a way of guaranteeing high standards and watertight processes to ensure the safety of transits and crews against Piracy at Sea.

Chris Stewart, CEO at Black Pearl, has been delighted with the performance of his operators and administration team who have worked so diligently since the business started in 2011.

He said: “My team have made the ISO accreditation process such a smooth and rewarding experience. I would like to place on record my sincere gratitude to all my team for their continued hard work. When I started the business it was with the intention of providing superior maritime security, using only the best operators and backed with exceptional customer support. This accreditation is now proof that we stand apart from the majority of private maritime security companies and can be considered as the small family run business that stands with its head held high in a competitive marketplace dominated historically by larger providers.”
